Joyce I. (Flugan) Siefke, age 80, of Alliance, passed away at 4:24 a.m., Sunday, May 18, 2014 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born September 16, 1933, in Washingtonville, Ohio, to Thirl and Mae (Stouffer) Flugan and was a longtime resident of Alliance.
A graduate of David Anderson High School and the Hannah E Mullins School of Nursing, Joyce worked as an RN for Alliance Community Hospital for 39 years.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, past president of the Catholic Women's Club and a Rotarian. Joyce was also a member of the Stark County Board of Mental Health, a delegate to Buckeye Girls State, enjoyed shopping, her grandkids and loved the beach, specifically in Naples, FL.
Survivors include her husband Hank Siefke, whom she married in June, 1955; sons, Michael Siefke and Bradley (Sheri) Siefke, both of Alliance; daughter, Michelle (LeWayne) Bryan of Logansport, IN; grandchildren, Natalie (Cole) Deason, Benjamin (Erika) Siefke, Jacob Bryan, Zachariah Siefke, Evan Siefke and Tyler Siefke; and great grandson, Tristan Deason.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Joanne Muntean.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Matthew Mankowski officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
