Julia Jenkins

Julia Jenkins, age 96, of Alliance passed away January 26, 2021 at Alliance Community Hospital.  She was born July 1, 1924 in Alliance to George and Julia (Matiyku) Luca and was a lifelong resident.

She was a 1943 graduate of Alliance High School and a stay at home mother.  After raising her children, she worked at Christ United Methodist daycare until her retirement.  Julia was a member of the Lifeline Pentecostal Church of Alliance and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She loved and worshipped the Lord, spending hours every day studying the Bible.  She will be missed by many, especially her little friend Dorothy.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Sheila Bragg of Linden, Virginia, Julia Chambers and Tim (Debbie) Jenkins both of Alliance; grandchildren, Michelle Jenkins, Kristina (Albert) Christy, Jeff (Jennifer) Davis, Jason (Amie) Davis, Lisa (Jonathon) Garner, Fred (Sarah) Watson and Heather (Eric) Unkefer; 17 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Jenkins whom she married January 31, 1948 and who passed in 1985; son, Michael Jenkins, son-in-law, Harry Bragg; granddaughter Stacey Jenkins; great granddaughter Jerrica Davis; great grandson, Brody Timothy Unkefer; sister, Margaret Faulkner; and brothers, Nick, Steve, George, Mike and Chuck Luca.

A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Wednesday February 3, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Chalmer Perkins officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
