Julius M. Zaleski, age 70, of Alliance, died at 6:42 a.m., Monday, February 21, 2011, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born March 3, 1940, in Beaver Falls, Pa., to Julius and Bridgett C. (Harkins) Zaleski.
Julius was employed by American Steel Foundry for 28 years and worked in the core room until retiring in 1997.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the VFW Post 1036 and the Alliance Eagles Aerie No. 2174.
Julius enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, playing the lottery, watching the Pittsburg Steelers and the Pittsburg Pirates. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra (Thomas) Zaleski whom he married February 5, 1965; four daughters, Kimberly Elridge of New Philadelphia, Rita (Keith) Wilson of Alliance, Michele (Glenn) Ballentine of Newton Falls and Marlene Rigdon of Alliance; three sons, Michael (Dottie) West, Mark Zaleski and Marty (Tracie) Zaleski, all of Alliance; 16 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, John Zaleski of Pa. and Thomas (Ruth) Zaleski of York, Pa.; sister, Suzanne (Dale) Williams of Little Rock, Ark.; and many nieces and nephews.
Julius was preceded in death by his parents; a sister; and a granddaughter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Donald Feicht officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
