June R. Oswald, age 88, of Alliance, died at 8:30 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at Sterling House of Alliance.
She was born June 23, 1923, in Jersey City, NJ to Otto and Katherine (Kindleburger) Fischer.
June was a talented artist and ceramic designer, having once owned her own business.
A member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Williamsport, PA; June was a member of Lioness and Amity, received Lioness of the Year in 1991, and held positions of leadership. June was an active volunteer at the hospital in Williamsport, member of Eastern Star, former member of the Red Hats Society, and enjoyed cooking.
She is survived by her son, Rev. Ted (Cheryl) Oswald, of Alliance; grandsons, Thaddeus Oswald of Canton, and Steffan Oswald of Louisville; great-granddaughter, Faylinn Oswald, of Louisville; and sister, Lois (James) Rettig, of Linden, NJ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Frederick Oswald, who died in 1996.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
