Karl L. Polen Sr. age 68 of Alliance died at 5:50 p.m. at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman on Wednesday July 30, 2003.
He was born June 29, 1935 in Alliance, Ohio to Lewis and Elizabeth (Buehler) Polen, and lived all of his life in the Alliance and Sebring areas.
Mr. Polen graduated from Sebring High School and attended Mount Union College. He worked as an Engineer and Vice-President at Alliance Machine Company, until June 2002, and was a member of BPOE #467 of Alliance.
Survivors include; daughter Sheri (Mike) Cushman of Alliance, son Larry (Sandy) Polen of Matthews, North Carolina; son Karl Polen Jr. of Phoenix, Arizona; daughter Kathy Davies of Alliance; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two sisters Marilyn (Ernest) Kolm of Alliance, and Linda (Gary) Rollman of Mesa, Arizona.
His parents, and his wife Jane Ann (Cosma) Polen, whom he married Jan. 29, 1954, and who died Sept. 8, 2002 preceded him in death.
Private Family Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday August 4, 2003 at the funeral home, with Pastor Neal Mann officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
