Katherene Corbi

Katherene W. Corbi, age 66, of Alliance passed away at 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Alliance Community Hospital after a courageous ten year battle with breast cancer. She was born May 15, 1943 in Troy, New York to Thomas Joseph and Genevieve (D'Ambro) Welch. Kathy was a member of the Regina Coeli Catholic Church and was a graduate of Mechanicville High School and Mildred Elli Secretarial School. A former employee of the Alliance Review, she retired from Genie Company in 2003 after 12 years of service. Prior to her marriage, she did secretarial work for New York State. Her biggest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family. Survivors include her mother, Genevieve Welch of Mechanicville, New York; her husband, Dennis Corbi of Alliance whom she married March 13, 1965; her three children, Joseph (Beth) Corbi of Hartville, David (Janet) Corbi of Johnstown, and Jennifer (Patrick) Kane of Strongsville; seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn, David and Hannah Corbi, Peyton Corbi, and Danielle, Michelle and Katherine Kane; three sisters Helene Welch of Malta, New York, Patricia (Gary) Phelan and Joann (Bill) Lyons, both of Clifton Park, New York; and 12 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2009 at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Fr. Michael Seifert officiating. Friends may call from 3-5 p.m. Sunday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
