Katherine A. Allmon, age 89, of Alliance, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Alliance Community Hospital following a short illness.
She was born in Alliance Aug. 13, 1919, and resided most of her life in the Alliance area. Kay was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church. She loved her garden, golfing and was an avid reader.
Kay is survived by a son, Dan Allmon of Alliance and three daughters, Karen (Jim) Goins of Barttlesville, Oklahoma; Joyce (Rick) Stoner of Berthoud, Colorado, and Mary Lynn (David) Stallings of Nairobi, Kenya; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, C. Bruce Allmon, who died in June 1980; her son, R. Dean Allmon, who died in September, 2005 and three brothers, Charles F. Ruth, Roderick S. Ruth and W. Richard Ruth.
Cremation will take place and a service to celebrate her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5th 2008 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1200 S. Union Ave., Alliance, Ohio with Pastor Ken Baker of The New Baltimore Community Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rodman Public Library, 215 E. Broadway St. Alliance, Ohio 44601.
