Kathryn Briggs

Kathryn Ann Briggs, age 88, of Limaville, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, February 15, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Kathryn was born February 24, 1920 in Alliance to Hiriam S. and Roseada Gaynell (Renner) Buttermore and was a lifelong resident.
A graduate of Alliance High School Kathryn was employed by the Stanford Pottery in Sebring, Alliance Manufacturing and retired from Monarch Teledyne.
Kathryn was a member of the Alliance Women's Club, Salem Amaranth and the Tuesday morning ladies bowling league. She enjoyed collecting antiques, spending time with her family, loved to go "down home" to Hundred, West Virginia and loved West Virginia football.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Willard James Briggs of Limaville; whom she married August 23, 1952; children, Darcy Morrison (Jerry Goodson), of Knoxville, Tennessee, Sue Konz of Alliance, Bruce (Olga) Morrison of Weatherford, Texas, Kathy (Jim) Favazzo and Debbie (Tony) Purses, both of Alliance; grandchildren Douglas McMurdy, Susie (Troy) Fatula, Beth Morrison, Beverly (Henry) Gilroy, J.B. (Sylvia) Morrison, Jimmy (Amanda) Favazzo and Nicholas A. Favazzo; great-grandchildren, Bryce and Reid Fatula, Billy Singleton and Mia Rosa Morrison, one sister, Betty Hudson Roschan of La Mirada, California; and a sister-in-law, Jule Ann (Elmer) Day of Lisbon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-dad, George Starkey; nephew, Terry Buttermore; and a grandson, Jack Randall (Randy) McMurdy.
