Kathryn E. (Shultz) Plajer, age 97, passed away at 1 PM Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring, Ohio surrounded by family.
She was born May 27, 1919, in Milton, OH to Albert and Emma (Spell) Shultz.
Kathryn (Katye) was a 1937 graduate of Alliance High School and attended Kent State University.
Kathryn married William (Bill) P. Plajer on June 28, 1943. They were married for 70 years.
In 1968 Katye and her husband moved to Florida. Residing first in Ft. Lauderdale for 25 years, then relocating to Lake Placid, FL where they lived for over 20 years. In 2014, Katye returned to Ohio making her home at Copeland Oaks in Sebring.
While in Alliance she was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Elks Women's Auxillary, the American Legion Ladies Auxillary and the Saxon Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband William (8/13), parents, sister Lilyn Johns and an infant sister. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Tom) Duskey of Tucson, AZ; sister, Thelma Greiner of Copeland Oaks, brother in law Robert Plajer (Barbara) of Alliance, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 11 at 1:30 p.m. at Copeland Oaks Chapel, Sebring, Ohio with Rev. Timothy Muse officiating.
Burial of both Kathryn and William will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
