Kathryn L. Searfoss, age 88, of Alliance, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday morning, August 11, 2011.
Born in Atwater, Ohio, to Charles E. and Hazel I. Miller on July 4, 1923, she lived all her life in Alliance and graduated from Alliance High School. She worked in her early years at Taylorcraft then married and became a homemaker.
She and her husband, Herbert were Charter Members of the Alliance Baptist Temple and at one time she was a secretary for the church and a Sunday school class teacher.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Kay (Bud) Wasmire of Beloit; three grandchildren, Christina (Larry) Lucas, Kevin Wasmire and Robert Wasmire; six great-grandchildren, Sterling and Skyler Wasmire, Kaylee Wasmire, Megan, Morgan and Madelynn Lucas, all of the area; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert E. Searfoss, whom she was married to for 40 years when he passed in 1987; one sister, Mildred Sabo; and two brothers, Charles E. Miller and Arthur E. Miller.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Alliance Baptist Temple with Rev. Randy Payne and Rev. Roger Dulaney of Calvary Baptist Church of Salem officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
