Kathryn A. Cameron Strain, age 87, of Beloit, passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at her home.
She was born August 24, 1926 in Homeworth, Ohio to Vernon and Grace (Daniels) Cameron.
Kathryn was a graduate of Alliance High School. She was employed as a cashier for 30 years at A&P and also at IGA and Sparkle.
She was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ and was very active in church activities whenever and wherever needed.. Kathryn enjoyed gardening, traveling and collecting dolls. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines and volunteered for many years with Copeland Oaks Caring Friends.
Survivors include son: Bruce (Stephanie) Strain, daughter-in-law, Diana Strain; grandchildren; Matthew, Rhonda, Leslie and Olivia and great-grandchildren, Raymond, Andrew and Luke.
She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband Jack, whom she married July 5, 1944 and who died December 28, 2000; son, Kenneth and sister Genevieve Denny.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 15, 2014 at Bethel United Church of Christ with Rev. Haan Phelps officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
