Kathryn E. "Kay" (Porter) Waltenberger, age 76, of Homeworth, Ohio, passed away at 6:27 p.m., Friday, December 11, 2015, at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born April 18, 1939, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, to John and Eva (Lewis) Porter.
Kathryn was a 1957 graduate of Minerva High School and retired from Bonfert Glass Company.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she loved working in her garden, reading, had a true gift for playing the piano and enjoyed riding her John Deere tractor.
Kathryn was an avid supporter and fan of the Marlington and Brunswick High School Band programs and was a true animal lover. She enjoyed caring for her cats and local wildlife.
Survivors include her children, Amy (Jay) Wardeska of Medina, Jennifer (Bob) Brahler of Alliance and William Waltenberger of Columbus; granddaughter, Anna Brahler; grandson, Jonathan Brahler; and sisters, Blanche (Eldis) Zeller of Homeworth and Eve Pim of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.
Preceding Kathryn in death were her parents; husband of nearly 51 years, Wayne Waltenberger; an infant daughter, Laura Beth Waltenberger; brother, Jack Porter; and sister, Becky Betz.
A memorial service for both 'Bucky' and 'Kay' will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Sue DeHoff officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. Saturday till the time of the service.
