Kathryn Weider

Kathryn E. Weider, age 83, of Alliance, died at 11:12 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2008 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born April 24, 1925 in Alliance, Ohio to Clarence and Eva (Sponseller) Knoll and was a lifelong resident. A graduate of Alliance High School, Mrs. Weider worked as a Secretary for Ohio Edison and Alliance Manufacturing. Kathryn was a member of the Alliance Baptist Temple, former member of the Beechwood United Methodist Church and Sunday School Teacher. She was active in various church ministries and involved with ministering to nursing homes with her husband. Mrs. Weider was a faithful and loving wife and mother, who enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling. Survivors include her husband, Alfred R. Weider, whom she married Dec. 28, 1946; five children; Linda (Dr. Charles) Rhodes of Phoenix, Az., Larry (Janet) Weider of Brecksville, Oh., Laurie Reynolds of St. Peters, Mo., Lee (Teresa) Weider of Folsom, Ca., and Dr. Lew (Cheryl) Weider of Lynchburg, Va.; thirteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; one granddaughter, Nikki Rhodes; one sister, Esther DeGroff; her twin brother, Kenneth Knoll; and her step-mother, Eursel Knoll. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday June 23, 2008 at the Alliance Baptist Temple with Pastor Randy Payne officiating. Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alliance Baptist Temple, 1441 W. Vine St. Alliance, Ohio 44601. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, Alliance, Ohio.
