Keith F. Stocker

Keith F. Stocker, age 96, of Alliance, passed away at 2:58 p.m., Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living.

He was born October 25, 1923, in Lamar, Colorado to Cornelius and Stella I. (Forister) Stocker.

Keith was a 1942 graduate of Jacksonville High School in Illinois. He attended Illinois College, where he was a member of Phi Alpha Literary Society, before graduating in 1950 from the University of Pittsburgh.

A U.S. Army WWII Veteran, Keith served with the Air Force in Air Transport Command in the Middle East Theatre.

Keith worked at Babcock and Wilcox Tubular Products Division in Alliance, until his retirement.

Keith was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church, Alliance Country Club, Alliance Rotary, where he received the Paul Harris Fellow.

While in Illinois, he was a past member of Mason Harmony No. 3, Zingabad Grotta. Keith was also a member of Forever Mount Society.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann (Ballantyne) Stocker, whom he married in 1970; sister, Alma Jean Sweitzer; sister-in-law, Sandy (Dan) Davia; nieces, Sally (Ken) Schaeffer, Stacey Sweitzer, Elizabeth (Paul) D’Eramo and Amy (Bill) Rose; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Keith was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother-in-law, Richard E. Sweitzer.

Services will be held at 11 .m. Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Coralee Cox officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
