Kenneth Dickey

Kenneth M. Dickey, age 81 of Homeworth, died at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006 at Crandall Medical Center.
He was born June 9, 1925 in Jefferson County, Pennsylvania to John C. and Fay (Gilhousen) Dickey and lived in Homeworth since 1965.
Mr. Dickey attended Alliance High School, and worked as an Auto Mechanic with his father at Dickey Auto Service before retiring in 1976.
He was a member of Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church; life member of Sons on Union Veterans of the Civil War; life member of the Fifth Marine Division Association, life member of the VFW Post 1036 of Alliance, and life member of the American Legion George D. Worth Post 574. Mr. Dickey was active in the Multiple Sclerosis Support Group at Crandall Medical Center.
Mr. Dickey served with the U.S. Marine Corp during W.W. II, surviving Iwo Jima.
Survivors include one son, Michael J. Dickey of Mill Valley, California; two step-daughters, June Wagner of Cuyahoga Falls, and Carole Mathey of Homeworth; six step-grandchildren, ten step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pauline Reed of Alliance, and Sara Lewis of Alliance; two nieces and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Evelyn (Schopfer) Dickey, whom he married Nov. 5, 1965, and who passed away Feb. 19, 2003.
Services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church with Pastor Tom Sawyer officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 153, Homeworth, Ohio 44634.
