Kenneth V. Livelsberger Sr., age 88 of Alliance, died at 9:55 a.m. Sunday, November 12, 2006 at Bel-Air Care Center.
He was born February 17, 1918 in Alliance, Ohio to Guy and Clara (Zumbrunnen) Livelsberger and was a lifelong resident.
Mr. Livelsberger graduated from Alliance High School in 1937, and was employed as a draftsman, test and development engineer for the former American Steel Foundries, where he retired in 1968 after 32 years. While at American Steel, he received numerous patents for his inventions. He then was employed by Electric Furnace Co. in Salem, Ohio for 14 years, retiring in 1982.
He was a member of Union Avenue United Methodist Church, and the Alliance Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy (Grate) Livelsberger, whom he married March 31, 1939; adopted daughter, Theresa (Donald) Fording of Alliance, two sons, Dean (Alisa) Livelsberger of Nevada, Ohio, and Roger (Debra) Livelsberger of Mansfield, Ohio; nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Kenneth V. Livelsberger Jr., one brother, Robert, one daughter, and one granddaughter.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Peters officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
