Kenneth Allen Schott, age 81, of Alliance, passed away suddenly after a brief illness on July 31, 2019 at Community Care under the care of Alliance Hospice.
He was born April 8, 1938, in Ansted, West Virginia to Hettie Schott.
A 1956 graduate of Ansted High School in West Virginia, Ken was a Forest Ranger in California before moving to Alliance where he was an Alliance Fireman and Captain for 28 years until his retirement in 1991.
He was a member of the Union Avenue United Methodist Church, a life member of the BPO Elks No. 467, and former member of the International Association of Firefighters Local Union No. 480.
Ken loved feeding the birds and squirrels, gardening and traveling with his wife. He also served at the Vine St. steak dinners.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sandra (Thomas) Schott; two sisters, Linda Aguilar and Joan Arbaugh, both of Ansted, West Virginia; sister-in-law, Janice Tennant; daughter-in-law, Diane Schott; and three nieces and a nephew.
In addition to his mother, Hettie, Ken was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Flint; and a son, Randy Schott.
Ken will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
