In Loving Memory of Kristy Lynn Murdoch Springer
A LIFE CUT SHORT, BUT A LIFE WELL LIVED!
Kristy Springer, age 57 passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at her family home in Alliance, Ohio, after a courageous battle with a long illness. Her unwavering strength and compassion were a beacon for all who knew her.
Born on October 1, 1967 in Sioux City, Iowa, Kristy moved with her family to Alliance, Ohio later the same year – a place she would lovingly call home throughout her life. She gradated from Alliance High School in 1985 and went on to earn her B.A. degree from Mount Union College in 1989.
A vibrant and outgoing spirit, Kristy had an incredible gift of connecting with people. Her father once said “She could talk to a fence post, and it would likely answer back” – a testament to her warmth, curiosity and boundless energy.
At Mount Union, Kristy majored in Communications and English. She was particularly proud of the “double major”. She immersed herself in campus life, and was a member of the campus chapter of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority, She was particularly interested in sports. She found joy in calling basketball games play by play, broadcasting on WRMU, the college radio station and helped organize the schools wrestling tournaments. She was also a member of the college soccer team. A proud and loyal alumnae, Kristy remained a devoted supporter of Mount Union – purple through and through.
After college, she moved to the Columbus area where she pursued a career in health insurance as a Provider Contract Manager. Outside of work, her passions were many. She developed a deep love for NASCAR and especially cheered for her favorite driver, Chase Elliot. Her devotion led to annual road trips to Michigan International Speedway and other racetracks, where she forged lifelong friendships and unforgettable memories.
Kristy later made her home in Morrow County, Ohio where she and her beloved life partner, Bobby Adams, lived on a cattle farm. She had a soft spot for every calf born there – each one given a name. Together, Kristy and Bobby were pillars of the community, especially in youth athletics, dedicating their time and hearts to local football programs and civic efforts.
Even in the face of prolonged illness, Kristy’s spirit never wavered. Throughout numerous hospital stays and treatments. She remained focused on others – learning the names and stories of every doctor, nurse, aide and custodian she encountered. She never forgot to say “thank you” no matter how much pain she was in. Her grace, gratitude and unshakable kindness left a mark on everyone she met.
Kristy’s love for life, people and community will live in the hearts of those who knew her. She now belongs to the Universe, and her her light continues to shine through the lives she touched.
She is survived by her loving parents, Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Murdoch, her brother, Scott Murdoch and his wife Jill, all of Alliance; her son, Roger Springer and family of Akron, OH and her cherished partner, Bobby Adams of Fredericktown, OH.
A celebration of Kristy’s remarkable life will be held at a later date.
