Larry W. "Shorty" Freeman Sr

On the morning of December 20th, 2015, Larry "Shorty" Freeman passed away in his home at the age of 73.
He was a lifelong resident of Alliance and a 37 year employee of the Alliance Machine Company.
He lived a happy life with his wife of 35 years; his five children; and 15 grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife, Linda (Pasco) Freeman; his children, Tony Thomas, Michel (George) Kish, Joie (Kevin) Layne, Jeremy (Gwynne) Thomas, and Larry (Kristen) Freeman; grandchildren, Morgan, Jerian, Nathan, Anthony, Jonah, Grace, Lochlan, Noah, Jaci, Ellie, Maeve, Jeremiah, and "the triplets" Luciana, Desmond, and Jude; siblings, Bonnie "Kay" (Bill) Wilson, Bonnie (Dennis) Anderson, Carol McIlvain, Joyce Pettigrew, Joan (Ron) Cochran, Gary Freeman, and Linda Martin. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, and friends whom he dearly loved.
Larry is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Battershell; father Ralph Freeman; and his brother, Ralph Freeman.
Larry was known affectionately by all as Shorty. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and all who knew him.
What he valued most is his time spent living and celebrating life with his family. The absolute best moments in his life can be represented by holiday celebrations, traveling, attending grandchildren's sporting events, and using every opportunity to express his love for his wife. Strong in spirit, staunch in his convictions, loyal to his friends, and loving to his family, Shorty was a gift to us all. We will always remember him on his Harley, riding on a country road with the sun shining down, wind in his hair, and a smile on his face.
Services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, December 26, 2015, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Viewing will be from 1 to 3 p.m. prior with services to follow.
