Laverne Colbert, age 72, passed away on January 1, 2025.
She was born on February 10, 1952 to Elnora Gordon and George Sutton Sr.
Laverne was a member of Triumph God and Christ church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, bowling and pinball. Laverne also loved going to the casino and playing the Ohio Lottery. Her ‘pet’ numbers were 123 and 567.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Angela L. Gordon, Danielle L. Colbert, Darnetta L. Colbert, and Darnell L. Colbert; thirteen grandchildren; one great-grandson; a sister, Joyce Davis; brothers, Larry Sutton and Lawrence Sutton; and a host of others she acknowledged as her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, George Sutton Jr. and James Sutton; and two grand-doggies, Brooklyn and Milo.
A funeral service will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Friday, January 10 at 1:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior.
