LaVerne J. Hildebrandt, age 85 of Alliance, died at 8:38 a.m. Friday September 24, 2004 at Green Meadows Nursing Home.
She was born September 13, 1919 in McDonald, Pennsylvania to Adam and Mary (Sly) Johnston. Mrs. Hildebrandt lived most of her life in the Alliance area and graduated from Alliance High School. She was previously employed as the Y.W.C.A. Director and worked in the office at Grove Refrigeration.
Mrs. Hildebrandt was a member of the Alliance Church of the Nazarene; Alliance Women's Credit Union and was a former Girl Scout Leader.
Survivors include two daughters Janice (Keith) Eckelberry of Alliance, and Susan (David) Compton of Tinley Park, Illinois; three grandchildren Criss (Trisha), Antha, and Jon, and one great-granddaughter Kathyrn, and one brother Duncan "Bud" Johnston of Limaville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands Jon Stephenson, Clifford Penn and Guy Hildebrandt, one brother Loyd Johnston and one sister Marie Swartz.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor David Kline officiating. Friends may call from 7- 9 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
