Lawrence W. Vera, age 85 of Alliance, died at 11:55 a.m. July 1, 2005 at Oakhill Manor Nursing Center.
He was born November 11, 1919 in New London, Connecticut to Lawrence and Amy (Perkins) Vera and lived in Alliance since 1982.
He retired from Automated Packaging after working as a projects engineer for 26 years.
Mr. Vera was a Private in the National Guard with the 192nd Field Artillery in New London Conn. He loved dogs, hunting and enjoyed collecting guns.
Survivors include children; Richard Vera, David Vera, Larry Vera Jr., of Malone, NY, Curtis Vera of Oregon, Mark Vera of Fla., Taryn Raber of Alliance, Tamela Wurgler of Louisville, Tracy Erb of Dayton, and Jeffrey Vera of Phoenix; sixteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two daughters, Janet and April.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
