Lawrence Keith Williamson, age 74 of Alliance, died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2007 at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born, April 10, 1932, in Charleston, WV to Lawrence Aubrey and Eunice Kathleen (Wince) Williamson and resided in Alliance since 1955.
Mr. Williamson attended Bethel United Church of Christ. He was a U. S. Army Veteran and a member of Mile Branch Grange, Police Reserves, Sancap Displaced Worker's Society, Boy Scouts and a Senior Bowling League at Parkway Lanes.
He attended Pennsboro High School in Pennsboro WV and received diplomas in Automotive Mechanics and Air Conditioning and Refrigeration in Chicago, Ill.
Mr. Williamson worked as a security officer and previously worked for 37 years as a Fork Lift Operator, Slitter, Flex Machine Operator and Inspector for S.I.A./Sancap. After his retirement he worked as a stockman at Thorne's IGA.
Mr. Williamson enjoyed woodworking, hunting, golf and watching sports. He especially loved and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include three daughters, Gaila (Alan) Flowers of Alliance, Pam Baum of Alliance, and Patricia (Robert) Swaggard of Maximo; two sisters, Shirley Bond of Mountain, WV and Vicky (Terry) Boyce of St. Mary's, WV.; one brother, Jimmy (Janice) Williamson of Pennsboro, WV.; sister-in-law, Elgie Whitla of Beloit: four grandchildren, B.J., Steve, Elizabeth and Brittany; three great-grandchildren, Taryn, Morgan and Brayden; many nieces and nephews; including T.J. and Jason and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Thelma Williamson, whom he married Jan. 1, 1955 and who died Jan. 16, 2006; and infant sister, Louise Williamson.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Davis officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, where Grange Services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Burial, with military honors provided by the American Legion and VFW Posts of Alliance will be at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, Alliance, Ohio.
