Lee Thomas Samblanet, age 24, of Homeworth, died at 4:50 p.m. June 27, 2007 at Akron Children's Hospital.
Lee was born, July 2, 1982 in Canton to Thomas and Brenda (Tescher) Samblanet and was a lifelong resident of Homeworth.
A 2001 graduate of West Branch High School, Lee was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved all sports. He battled cancer for eight years. His journey for treatments took him to hospitals in Loma Linda, CA, Pittsburgh, PA, and Akron Childrens. His Make a Wish was realized in November of 2000 when he spent a week in training with the Navy Seals in Little Creek, VA. He was honored with the distinction of Honorary Navy Seal.
Lee's life was spent inspiring others with his courage and sense of humor as he faced each battle. He touched all who knew him.
He was a member of St. Joseph Maximo Catholic Church.
He will be sadly missed by his parents of Homeworth; brother, Vance Howard Samblanet of Louisville; grandparents, Atlee and Eileen Tescher of Alliance and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Isabel Samblanet.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Maximo Catholic Church with Father Ungashick, Father Tom Bishop, and Pastor Rod Doran officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Moultrie Cemetery.
