Lela Marie (Garvin) Gibson, age 86, of Alliance, passed away at 11:20 p.m., Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at Canterbury Villa of Alliance.
She was born May 24, 1932, in Hacker Valley, West Virginia, to Oscar Evert and Agnes Pearl (House) Garvin and has resided in Alliance since 1952.
Lela Marie was a home maker and a member of Southside Church of God. She enjoyed traveling, visiting with her family and cooking.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty Louise Julian of Mount Sterling, Kentucky; and nine sons, Robert (Janice) Gibson and Evert Gibson, both of Alliance, Bill (Dorothy) Gibson of Canton, Dale (Kathleen) Gibson of Minerva, David Lee (Susan) Gibson of Louisville, Roy Gibson of Alliance, Darrell (Christine) Gibson of Mount Sterling, Kentucky, Sam (Cathy) Gibson and Gary Gibson both of Alliance; sister, Emogene DiBattista; and 84 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward J. Gibson, whom she married February 28, 1948; and brothers, Russell Garvin, Oral Garvin, and Frank Garvin.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
