Lela M. Raber, age 78, of Louisville, died at 9:08 a.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at her home.
She was born September 13, 1930 in Akron to Alton Wise and Pearl (Keller) Porter.
Lela was a graduate of the former Marlboro High School and was owner of the Raber Dairy Farms.
A member of the Maximo Zion Church, she was a former member of the Nimishellen Grange, Stark County Farm Bureau Counsel and the church women's guild.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda (Lihai) Li of Powell, OH and Debra (David) Hajba of Hartville; a son, Dwight (Julia) Raber of Louisville; a daughter-in-law, Janice (Rininger) Raber, wife of the late Bruce Raber; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lillian (Merel) Griffith of Ashland, OH and Sandra (Robert) Ramsey of Alliance; one brother, Clyde (Grace) Wise of Hartville; six nieces; three nephews; and two step-sons Jon (Mary) Lawrence of N. Canton and Scott (Jessie) Lawrence of Dover.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Russell Raber and Donald Lawrence; and a son, Bruce Raber.
A Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2009 at Maximo Zion Church with Pastor David Ashbrook officiating.
