Leoda B. Palmer, age 88 of North Benton, died at 7:45 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2008 at her home. She was born March 21, 1919 in Lynch, Kentucky to Walker T. and Ella K. (Robbins) Thompson. Mrs. Palmer enjoyed collecting elephants and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was very proud of the fact that she lived to see the fifth generation of her family. Leoda is survived by her daughter, Margaret D. Alzner of North Benton; four grandchildren, Patricia Votaw, Jim Alzner and Scott Alzner, all of North Benton, and Robert Alzner of Blacklick, Ohio; four great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore Palmer, who died in Oct. 1965; one sister, Cleo Dell; and three brothers, Edgar Ray Thompson, Roy C. Thompson, and Chester H. Harris. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Rebecca Innerst of Union Ave. United Methodist Church officiating.
