Leonard “Lenny” Reich Jr., age 48, lost his courageous battle with cancer on October 17, 2022.
He was born on November 16, 1973, in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Leonard and Joy (Reed) Reich.
Lenny was the athletic director at Alliance City Schools. He formerly worked at the University of Mount Union as the Assistant to the Athletic Director for 14 years and served on the College Sports Communicators executive board. Lenny was inducted into the College Sports Information Directors of America Hall of Fame and received the Bill Nichols Media Award from the Ohio Athletic Conference. Lenny was beloved in the sports community he served and will be deeply missed.
Lenny enjoyed watching sports and never missed a Cleveland Browns or Cleveland Guardians game. He liked to golf, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his parents; his wife, Helen Reich, whom he married June 17, 2000; his daughter, Caroline Reich; brother, Joe Reich; sisters-in-law, Natalie West and Beverly (Rick) Roll; brother-in-law, Keith (Heather) West; and nieces, Hayley (Nick) Kelble, Alyson West, Alivia West and Adalynn West.
A visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Thursday, October 20th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
A second visitation will be held at the University of Mount Union Chapel on Friday, October 21st from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with a funeral service to follow.
