Leonard L. Syx, age 74, of Sebring, died at 1:52 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2013, at Alliance Community Hospital.
He was born June 3, 1938, in Kensington Ohio, to Harold and Doris (Faloon) Syx.
Leonard was employed by Leonard's Home Improvement and then Sacred Heart of Mary Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, as a maintenance supervisor, retiring in 1990.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Leonard was a member of the Moose Club, and entertainment chairman of the Eagles Club.
Survivors include his seven children, Leonard, Jr., Richard, Thomas, Michael, Joyce, Patrick, and Patricia; three step-children, John Wayne, Mary Faye Roosa and Gatha J. Hall; sister, Bonnie Finch; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Myrtle Faye Syx, whom he married July 13, 1980 and who died August 21, 2012; son, Timothy; sister, Joyce Ann and stepson, Donald Wayne Jr.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Kadesh Chapel Cemetery in Wellsburg, West Virginia.
