Leroy John Leek, Jr

Leroy J. Leek Jr., age 52 of Alliance, died at Aultman Hospital at 7:50 p.m. August 28, 2006. Leroy was born June 27, 1954 in Brownsmills, New Jersey to Leroy John Leek Sr. and Mary L. (Lohr) Leek Matheos. A Sergeant in the U.S. Army Leroy served as a mechanic for thirteen years during the Vietnam War, and later was employed by various businesses in the Alliance area. Mr. Leek was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles of Alliance #2174. Leroy enjoyed fishing, watching Dallas Cowboy Football, cooking and spending time with his children. He is survived by his mother Mary Matheos of Diamond, Ohio; two daughters, Leslie (Tim) Hanlon of Winona, Ohio and Kathryn (David) McCoy; one son, Leroy J. Leek III; two grandsons; one granddaughter; four sisters, Mary (Jeff) Loy, Eleanor Ann Blankenship, Nancy Leek and Diane (Jerry) Martin; one brother, Raymond (Connie) Leek, all of Alliance; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Private services will be held. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
