Lillian Emma "Lee" Mayer, age 80, of Alliance, died suddenly Wednesday morning, May 26, 2010 at her home.
She was born Sept. 17, 1929 in Springfield, Massachusetts to Arnold Evert and Lillian Mildred (Lupton) Look. Lillian was a graduate of Wellesley College in Wellesley, Massachusetts and was employed in accounting at Kent State University and the City of Cuyahoga Falls.
Lillian was an active member of the Alliance Area Senior Center and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Canton. She was an avid reader and enjoyed line dancing and her lap top computer.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa (Steve) Stroup of Homeworth; beloved friend, Samuel Kolonchuk of Canton; brother, Arnold Evert Look Jr. of Victoria, Australia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest A. Mayer who died in 2003; son, Leif Henry Cooke Jr.; and brother, Donald Lupton Look.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2010 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Pam Bruno of First Christian Church officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be at West Brookfield Cemetery in West Brookfield, Massachusetts.
