Lilly May Hackney age 87, of Alliance, died at 8:25 a.m. October 26, 2005 at McCrea Manor Nursing Center.
She was born January 12, 1918 in Cambridge, Ohio to Lewis Whetzel and Mary (Stroud) Smallwood. She lived in Atwater for 25 years, until moving to Malvern, before returning to Alliance.
Mrs. Hackney was a former member of the Atwater United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Gene (Ilene) Hackney of Alliance; William (Sharon) Hackney of Ravenna, and Dennis (Mary) Hackney of Canton; eleven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hackney was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles William Hackney, whom she married June 25, 1938, and who died in 1990; and two sons, Gary and Norman.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor William Nicewarner of the Atwater United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be at Atwater Cemetery.
