Linda J. Paina

Linda J. Paina, age 76, of Canton, formerly of Alliance, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Select Medical Hospital at Mercy Medical Center.
She was born August 27, 1940, in Steubenville, Ohio, to John and Dorothy M. (Leishman) Calvin.
A 1958 graduate of Alliance High School, Linda was employed as an Office Manager for Thorne's Super Duper, and Trade Winds Marina, as well as other local businesses.
A life member of the First Christian Church in Alliance, Linda enjoyed music, dancing, and being with her family, friends, and her cats. Linda was very philanthropic and donated to many charities.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Paina, whom she married January 27, 1989; son, Edward L. (Pam) Lipply of Sebring; daughters, Pam Sims of Alliance, Melinda (Brian) Kinser of Sebring, and Sherry (Ron) Harker of Canton; nine grandchildren, Lynda Jo, Jennifer, Stephanie, Allison, Christopher, Trisha, Jamie, Jonathan and Matthew; nine great-grandchildren; and aunts, MaryBelle Schuller, of Alliance, and Janet Percy of California.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Debra Ferguson.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 19, 2017, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Sue DeHoff officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
