Lloyd D. Gray, age 70, of Alliance went to be with the Lord on January 1, 2022 at Altercare of Alliance.
He was born on September 21, 1951 in Alliance to Samuel and Emma (Blackburn) Gray.
Lloyd graduated from Alliance High School in 1970 and then attended Refrigeration School. Lloyd worked as a Security Officer for the University of Mount Union after his retirement from Big Lots in Alliance and American Steel Foundries. He served as the Union representation at American Steel and attended Second Baptist Church. Lloyd was former Boy Scout leader and played for the semi-pro football team in Alliance, The Titans. He also played softball and was known by his team members as “Magic”. Lloyd enjoyed golfing, fishing, barbecuing and helping other families with lawn care.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol Gray; his children, Lloyd Gray Jr. of Dallas,TX, James (Leti) Gray of Cincinnati, and Julia Gray of Canton; his brother, Roscoe (Tammy) Gray. step-children, Rodney (Kennetha) Campbell, Eloise Boiner and Lee Boiner; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Gale and Samuel.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 8th at 2:30 p.m. with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor James Gray will officiate. The family asks that guests wear face masks. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
