Lois A. Bossert

Lois A. Bossert, age 95, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023.

She was born on January 22, 1928, in Alliance, Ohio, to the late Albert and Katie (Auld) Wafler and was a lifelong resident. A 1946 graduate of Alliance High School serving as Class Valedictorian. Lois then attended Mount Union College for 2 years and was an Alpha XI Delta Sorority member and recipient of the Order of Rose. She was employed at the former Bill’s Marathon, their family business, as the bookkeeper for 40 years. A life member of The First Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Alliance Women’s Club. Lois enjoyed baking, bowling, golfing, playing bridge and traveling. She had a great love for her three Westies.

Survivors include her son, Gary (Bev) Bossert of Ft Myers, FL; and a granddaughter, Victoria (Gary) Chernikovich of Alliance.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her husband, William H (Bill) Bossert, whom she married September 1, 1949; son Gavin Bossert, who died October 18, 1991; brother, Henry; and sister, Jean Coe.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 29th at 11am at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
