Lois Jean (Yaggi) Hofer, age 89, of Homeworth, passed away at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at her home with her daughters by her side.
She was born October 8, 1921, in Beloit, the daughter of Irvin E. and Ruth Isobel (Scott) Yaggi.
Lois was a member of the Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church, the Homeworth Historical Society and the Queens Club.
She is survived by her seven daughters, Nancy Cole, Sue (Samantha) Hofer, Kathy (Tim) Bachman, Beth Hofer, Martha (Charles) Stahl, Becky Hofer, Mary Perry; two sons, Paul (Linda) Hofer and Mark (Michele) Hofer; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchilden.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; second mother, Delilah (Girard) Yaggi Borton; husband, John Hofer whom she married July 28, 1940 and who died April 16, 1974; a son, Robert Hofer who died May 12, 2010; sisters, Mary Miller, Agnes Kertes, Ethel Bruderly and Donna Swallow; brothers, Leonard and Dale Yaggi; and sons-in-law, James Cole and Kenneth Perry.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2011, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Sawyer officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday May 27, 2011, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery.
