Lois Swager, age 88 of Sebring, died at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2005 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born March 6, 1917 in Steubenville, Ohio to Raymond and Anna (Dawson) Boggs. Mrs. Swager was raised and spent her early life in Austintown, Ohio. Later, she resided at Sevakeen Country Club in Salem, Ohio and Errol Estates in Apopka, Florida. She had resided in Copeland Oaks in Sebring for the past few years.
A graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and Kent State University, Mrs. Swager was an Elementary Teacher for fifteen years in the Austintown Fitch School system.
Mrs. Swager was a member of Ohltown United Methodist Church in Mineral Ridge, Ohio, where she was an active member. She was a former member of Sevakeen Country Club and Errol Estate Country Club. She was an avid swimmer, golfer, bridge player, artist, world traveler and fisherman. She enjoyed entertaining many friends and family at Sevakeen and Errol Estates. Her strong character and vivacious spirit will be missed by many.
Survivors include her son, James R. (Rebecca) Swager of Poland, Ohio; her daughter, Margery Jo (Neal) Sangree of Alliance; her sister, Jean Sterling of Tucson, Arizona; and three grandchildren, Richard Henry (Jillian) Swager of Silver Springs, Maryland, Dr. Jill A. Sangree (Dr. Robert W. Mays) of Shaker Heights, Ohio, and Peter W. (Rachel) Sangree of Catonsville, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard W. Swager, whom she married June 10, 1941, and who died Aug. 16, 1986, two brothers, Wayne Boggs and Glenn Boggs, and one sister, Ina Harwell.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at the Bennett Chapel at Copeland Oaks, 15th Street, Sebring, Ohio.
