Lois A. (Slusser) Snowden, age 84, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2013, at Altercare of Alliance.
She was born July 15, 1929, in Alliance to William Harrison and Ida M. (Wise) Slusser.
Lois was a deputy clerk of the Stark County Board of Elections and a member of the Bolton United Methodist Church where she was active in Women's Society and the choir. She was also the former president of the Alliance Democratic Women's Society and the choir director at the ORA Church in Florida. Lois enjoyed spending her winters in Florida and singing and entertaining with her family band in Florida and locally.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda D. Reiheld and Sharon L. (Paul) Hagan, both of Alliance; one son, Dennis R. Snowden of Alliance; grandchildren, David (Christine) Beikirch, Jason (Ann) Hagan, Andy Hagan, and Tim (Shelly) Hagan; great-grandchildren, Drue, Jonathan, Grace, Ariah, Tavia, Reese, Matt, Rachel, and Danny; brother-in-law, Ralph Marshall; and sister-in-law, Margaret "Peg" Slusser.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Campbell G. Snowden, whom she married September 9, 1947 and who died May 18, 2005, four brothers, Ted, Edward, Ernest and Donald; and two sisters, Beatrice Marshall and Erma Varga.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, August 26, 2013, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with her nephew, the Rev. Dr. David W. Bloor, officiating. Friends may call from 12 to 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Bolton United Methodist Church, 14760 Gaskill Dr. NE, Alliance, OH 44601.
