Lois Wright

Lois Heastand Wright age 82 of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on February 23, 2004 after a long battle with a respiratory illness.
She was born January 18, 1922 in Alliance, Ohio to Curtis L. and Margaret Brady Heastand, and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Wright graduated from Alliance High School in 1940 and from Mount Union College in 1944. She taught school in Aransas Pass, Texas during World War II, before beginning a 17 year teaching career for Alliance City Schools in 1957 teaching French and English.
A life member of Alliance Baptist Church, she was an active alumna in Delta Delta Delta Sorority at Mount Union for many years. Mrs. Wright was also a member of the Association of College Women, Alliance Women's Club, Alliance Quota Club, secretary of Alliance Counseling Center, and past member of the Carnation Festival Board.
Mrs. Wright was a loving mother to Karen Jaye (Richard) Common of Alliance and Rev. Bruce Dennis Wright (Elaine Melitshka) of Tampa, Florida. She was also beloved grandmother to six grandchildren, Jennifer Common, Kathryn Common, James Common, Jonathan Wright, Melissa Perrin and Rebekah Wright and three great-grandchildren, Hannah Wright, Liam Wright, and Emery Perrin. She is also survived by two sisters, Theda Faubel and Kathleen BonDurant, both of Alliance.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband J.C. Wright, whom she married March 23, 1945 and who died in 1976.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Gordon Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
