Lou Ellen (Farquhar) Garlanger, age 87, of Alliance, died at 3:45 p.m., Thursday, January 3, 2013, at McCrea Manor.
She was born September 9, 1925, in St. Joseph, Michigan, to Lester and Margarite (Hamlin) Farquhar.
Lou Ellen was a member of the Aldersgate United Methodist Church, liked singing gospel hymns, crocheting and making Barbie doll clothes.
She is survived by her sons-in-law, James (Elizabeth) Miller and Glen Miller; daughters-in-law, Peggy Miller and Marianne Miller; granddaughter, Brandi Miller, great grandson, Aiden; and several other grandchildren; friends and family of Ray and Vicki Kelley and friends and family of David and Karen Aemmer, of Louisville.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 20 years, Chester Garlanger in 1977; companion, Niegel Miller; step-son-in-law, Dale Miller in 2009; and many friends of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
Services will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Price officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at a later date at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Joseph, Michigan.
