Louise Edwards

Louise Edwards, age 81, of Alliance, passed away at 11:15 p.m. July 26, 2009 at her daughter's home in Alliance. She was born on December 21, 1927 in Alliance to Clifford and Stella Himmelspach Irish. Louise graduated from Alliance High School and Mount Union College. She retired in 1988 from Marlington Schools after teaching 3rd grade at Marlboro Elementary for 22 years. She volunteered at Rodman Public Library for years as a dedicated member of the Friends of the Library. This service was a true passion of Louise's. She was also an active member of Delta Kappa Gamma and supported the Haines House of Alliance. Survivors include her daughters, Maxine Haupt of Alliance and Barbara (Robert) Clemens of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren Eric and Penny Clemens and Stefanie Edwards; sister, Rosamond Grimm of Houston Texas; nieces; nephews; extended family; and special friends, "The Lunch Bunch." She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Donald Haupt; and her second husband Calvin (Ed) Edwards. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Mrs. Sue DeHoff officiating. Friends may call two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Canine Companions for Independence North Central 4989 State Route 37, East Delaware, Ohio, 43015 or to the Friends of the Rodman Library, 215 E. Broadway St. Alliance, Ohio, 44601.
