Loverta M. (Thornberry) Hall, age 93, of Alliance passed away at 10:05 p.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at Altercare of Alliance.
She was born May 30, 1923, in Sandy Hook, Kentucky, to Dewey and Ivory (Gibson) Thornberry.
Loverta was a high school graduate and had attended college. She was formerly employed at D Con and enjoyed being a homemaker.
She was a member of Truth Baptist Church and former member of Alliance Baptist Temple having played the organ for both. She loved fishing, being a seamstress, and taking care of her family.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel E. Hall, whom she married January 28, 1974; children, Ronnie (Nancy) Pontius of New Springfield, Ohio, Gary Pontius of Alliance, Shirley (Harry) Keffer of Nashville Georgia, Gloria (Ron) Thomas of Whittier, California, Cathy Pontius and her companion, Rick Rodabaugh of Marlboro and Tim (Penny) Pontius of Kent; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Loretta Lare of Alliance and Connie (Arnold) Ball of Kentucky; and step-children, Deanna, Bonnie, Sharon and John, and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Matthew Keffer; step son, Richard Hall; great-grandson, Isaac Crosby; and seven brothers.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Cassaday Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Roy Teague and Rev. Ryan Gilin co-officiating. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, August 5th. Interment will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.
