Loyd Johnston

Loyd J. Johnston, age 79 of Alliance, died at 4:45 a.m. June 13, 2004 at Aultman Hospital.
Mr. Johnston was born July 14, 1924 in Canton, Ohio to Adam "Red" and Mary (Sly) Johnston, and lived most of his life in the Alliance area.
He was a graduate of Alliance High School, and worked as a body man for Sarchoine and Son's for over forty years.
Mr. Johnston attended Alliance First Evangelical Friends Church, and was an honorary member and past secretary and director of the Dr. Roach Outdoor League. He was also a World War II Navy Veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Armitage Johnston, whom he married December 6, 1944, two sisters; LaVerne Hildebrandt of Alliance, and Marie Swarz of Alliance, one brother, Duncan "Bud" Johnston, of Limaville, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Johnston was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
