Lucile Ella May, age 92 of Alliance, died at 12:05 a.m. Monday February 21, 2005 at Alliance Community Hospital.
She was born October 12, 1912 in Alliance, Ohio to Gottfried and Rosina (Tschabold) Moser and was a lifelong resident.
She retired from the former Rudolph Brothers in 1950, after working as a grocery clerk for thirty-five years.
Mrs. May was a member of Science Hill United Church of Christ. She was also a member of the Historical Society of Science Hill School, Modern Homemakers Club, and the Jolly Pilgrims of the Chapel in Marlboro.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia L. (William) Szekely, Nancy L. (Ferdinand) Yoder, and Sonjia M. Mayes, all of Alliance, one daughter-in-law, Jean May of Boynton Beach, Florida, eleven grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren..
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Daniel "Zeb" May, whom she married March 2, 1934, and who died Jan. 2, 1987, three sisters, two brothers, and one son, Ronald J. May.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Science Hill United Church of Christ with Pastor Barry Stirbens officiating. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
