Lucille Smith (McConnell) Hollender

Lucille Smith Hollender, age 91, of Alliance, passed away at 10 p.m., Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Aultman Alliance Community Hospital.

She was born January 9, 1928, in Port Homer, Ohio, to Julius and Lorena S. (Ady) McConnell.

Lucille was a homemaker and a longtime member of the Alliance Church of Christ where she taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her daughters, Bonnie Liebhart of Alliance and Vickie (George) Myers of Clarksville, TN; son, Gary (Penny) Smith, of South Bend, IN; six grandchildren, Scott (Samantha) Brunner, Steve (Tracy) Brunner, Jennifer (Phil) Sabatino, Michael (Charamagne) Myers, Jenn (Casey) Martinson and Erin (Colin) Johnson; 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Luther Smith who died March 23, 2000; second husband, Roger Hollender who died June 5, 2012; sisters, Alda Workman and Martha Steen; and brothers, Arthur McConnell, William McConnell and Fred McConnell.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday evening.  Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
