Lynn E. Battershell

Lynn Edward Battershell, age 91, of Louisville, formerly of Alliance, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018, at The Landing of Stow.
He was born September 3, 1926, in Alliance, Ohio, to Roy and Blanche (McGirr) Battershell.
Lynn was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Alliance and Canton serving as a board member, in the Sunday school ministries and at district campgrounds. He ran Battershell Turkey Farms and was employed as a foreman at Transue and Williams, and at Sable Creek Golf Course. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Lynn enjoyed woodworking, traveling, mowing his lawn, working around the farm and took mission trips to the Bahamas, Israel and Spain. We're forever blessed to have had him in our lives.
Family is Lynn's top priority in life and he is survived by his wife, Shirley (Baum) Battershell, whom he married July 19, 1946; children, Gary (Necy) Battershell, Gail (Ron) Modic and Lynn (Rebecca) Battershell II; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Kiersten) Snyder, Brianna Weigle, Adam (Erin) Battershell, Brandon Battershell, Alana Battershell, Andrew Battershell, April (Justin) Gonzales, and Brett (Hillary) Adams; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sheryl Lee; and siblings, Paul, Wade, George and Doris Battershell and Jan Guy.
Services will be held 12:30 p.m., Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home co-officiated by Pastor Glen Davidson and Mr. Dean Marini. Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. till the time of the service. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
