Mabel Baker

Mabel E. Baker, age 98 of Alliance, died at Bel Air Care Center at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007. Mrs. Baker was born June 25, 1908 in Rustburg, Va. to David B. and Willie T. (Phillips) Barricks. She attended Rustburg High School and received her LPN Degree and continued her education to receive a Physical Therapy Certificate. She was a private duty nurse and worked for various physicians in the Alliance community. She was very close to her nieces and nephews and enjoyed her dogs and cats.
Mabel is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Cecil Baker, whom she married in 1954 and who died December 8, 1990, two sisters, Annie Godsey, Audrey DeBee Knori, her brother, Ernest and infant brother Robert Barricks.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with her nephew, Jeff Knori, Campus Pastor of Lake Center Christian School officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are by Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home, 75 S. Union Ave. Alliance, Ohio 44601.
