Madeline Ruth Roberts, age 66, of Alliance, died at 3 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2011, at her home with her family at her side.
She was born May 11, 1945, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, the daughter of Forrest and Betty (Goodwin) Davis.
Madeline attended Canton McKinley High School and graduated from Alliance Beauty College. She was a certified medical transcriptionist, licensed beautician, and taught at Alliance Beauty College under the direction of Patty Church.
An avid bowler, Madeline loved camping at Paradise Lake. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting and her flower gardens.
Survivors include her husband, Richard W. "Wayne" Roberts, of Alliance whom she married May 31, 1962; three children, Debbie Nelson and Michael (Loretta) Roberts, both of Alliance and Terri (Ron) Hubbs of Sebring; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; and one brother, Lloyd (Toni) Bunnell of Massillon.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Charles.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Chaplain Dan Tayman officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2011. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park.
