Margaret R. Cobb, age 92, of Inman, SC passed away at 9:10 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2008 at her home after a year long illness. She was born July 29, 1915 in Pine Bluff, WV to the late George W. McRobie and Prudence Hogue McRobie.
Margaret, known as Jean to her friends, was a long time Alliance area resident having moved to South Carolina in 2005.
She was a member of the Beechwood Methodist Church where she had many friends and was once a member of the church choir.
She worked most of her life as a homemaker and also worked as a real estate salesperson. She was proud of her labor as a welder during WWII.
Her interests included reading, fishing, bowling, ceramics, playing cards, cooking and especially gardening.
She is survived by four children, Joan (Vern) Shively, George (Janet) Cline, Ted (Suzetta) Cobb all living in the Alliance area and Carol (Ray) Spicer of Inman, South Carolina. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her first husband Orville Cline and her husband of forty-seven years, Glenn R. Cobb. A grandson, David Ray Cline is also deceased.
Funeral services will be held at Noon, Saturday, at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Crites officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. - Noon prior to the service. Interment will be at Hartzell Cemetery.
