Margaret Ann Dixon, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2022 in Flint, Michigan following an extended illness.
Margaret was born on January 2, 1934, in Ozark, Alabama, to Robert and Ethel Lee Ford. She moved to Alliance, Ohio in 1948 and attended Alliance City Schools. She later married Edward M. Dixon. That union lasted 63 years until his death in 2014. Margaret worked retail until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of St. Luke AME Church. Margaret volunteered at Alliance Community Hospital for over 25 years and served as President on the Auxiliary Board. She was one of the ‘sharpest’ women of Alliance and her fashion sense was admired by many.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Anita Taylor of Flint, MI, Annese Dixon of Alliance, and Zurka Dixon of Canton; her son, Stephen Dixon of Alliance; sisters, Robbie Young of Alliance; Betty Matthews of Georgia and Joyce McCary of Alabama; eleven grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; a daughter, Peggy; grandson, Shane; granddaughter, Malikah; and a brother, Willie.
A visitation will be held at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home on Monday, October 31st from 12:00-1:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Bobby Williams will officiate. Interment will be at Alliance City Cemetery.
